Back Pain

Nearly all of us are affected by back pain at some point in our lives. This includes neck, mid-back, lower back problems and sciatica. It is often exacerbated by the way we are sleeping, stress or our posture at work or while driving.

Treating back pain involves keeping active, pain relief, hot or cold therapies, manual therapies like physiotherapy and osteopathy and stretches. See your GP for more advice on these treatments.

To prevent back pain the key is keeping your back strong. Finding something which becomes part of your routine is the best way to avoid recurrence as you will maintain the strength in your back if you do exercises regularly. There are also simple posture related rules when lifting and carrying things, driving, sitting or doing work at your computer.
