Clinics & Services

hWe hold a General Medical Services contract with Greater Glasgow & Clyde NHS Health Board. GMS services mean we provide essential service that all GP practices are contracted to provide. That is, basic treatment of ill people.

We also provide the following additional services:

  • Contraceptive services. Specialist services such as Contraceptive Implant available in the practice. Make an appointment with Dr Wilson to discuss.
  • Child health surveillance, together with the Health Visiting team.
  • Joint care Maternity services together with hospital midwives in the ante natal and post natal period. * see below
  • Immunisation for adults if required for  travel abroad. NB not all travel immunisations or medications are available on the NHS – please ask our practice nurse for details (no less than 6 weeks before travel).
  • Cervical smears.
  • Smoking Cessation.
  • Freezing of warts and other small skin lesions.

Direct Central Booking Line – Antenatal Care

NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde has launched a new central booking line.  Telephone number 0141 247 8422 to streamline ante natal appointments.  When women make a call they will be given an appointment with a named midwife and a scan slot.  A request will then be made to the patient’s GP with details of the two appointments asking for the patient’s information to be provided in advance of the booking appointment.  As far as possible patients will be offered appointments close to the GP and their local hospital to ensure improved continuity of care.

We also hold contracts with Greater Glasgow NHS Board for the following enhanced services:

  • Annual flu immunisation programme to protect the elderly and at risk groups.
  • Joint injections.
  • Regular monitoring, by blood and urine tests, for patients on a range of drugs for arthritis and bowel problems.
  • Annual comprehensive reviews at our specialist clinics for patients with heart disease, stroke and diabetes carried out by our Practice Nurse.
  • Minimum annual comprehensive review of patients with Asthma, Chronic Kidney Disease, Dementia, Hypothyroidism, Epilepsy, Mental Health problems, Hypertension and Cancer.

Non-NHS Service

Medical Examinations for purposes such as HGV/PSC or insurance can be arranged by appointment. Some services which fall outside the NHS such as Private Medical Certificates, Private Insurance Forms are charged at a rate based on the British Medical Association suggested fees. Please ask one of the Patient Assistants for more details.
